I first saw dozens of Spotted Lantern Flies on trees along the entrance road to Penwood State Park in Bloomfield Ct. It had been reported in the spring that this invasive species was moving up the eastern states from the south. In my mind they are very photogenic - are they ugly or is there some beauty in their form. They look to me as if they are made from pieces of the erector sets I used to play with as a child.
