In early April, migratory birds begin returning to Connecticut from their wintering grounds. This Great Egret was one I saw at Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme, CT. Watching these birds can be hypnotic as they fish and preen, then preen some more. I caught this image as one stood along the banks of the Bridle River marsh.
